Every week we will be running various challenges for all the family to enjoy.
This week and next week we are challenging you all to be creative! Paint a pebble, make a model, draw a picture, really use your imagination!

This page is to support all our parents whose children are learning from home. There are lots of links and resources available and all class teachers are providing activities for their classes. Staff can also offer individual advice and guidance during their regular phone calls home to families.
The picture link above will take you to the new learning from home resources provided by the BBC, who are providing daily structured activities in English, Maths and other subjects. These can be accessed via the internet, BBC iplayer and BBC radio.
Phonics lessons are now available on youtube which cover all the learning that would have been taking place in schoools ths term. At Sharlston we follow White Rose Maths, White Rose Maths have produced daily maths lesson resources for children to access at home, with video links and activities to download and print, or complete from the screen.
The first full two weeks of learning for the summer term are freely available by clicking the on the picture link below. From week 3, the White Rose Maths learning links closely to the maths on the BBC Bitesize, but activity sheets will not be freely available online. However, school have subscribed to White Rose Maths, so we will download the activities and will place them in the Year Group pages below.
Oak National Academy Resources
From Monday 20 April, parents can access 180 lessons a week for every year group from Reception through to Year 10, through a new online platform, Oak National Academy. The enterprise, which has been set up by teachers and is funded by the Department of Education, provides video lessons for students, with each lesson coming with a corresponding quiz and worksheet.

Encouraging your child to read as much and as often as possible, what ever their age, is one of the most important things you can do whist they are at home.Try asking your child to practise reading a story aloud, ready to entertain a family member via a video chat. Lots of free online books are available in the links at the bottom of this page.
